What I've learned about Action Research/How I plan to use it

What I’ve learned about Action Research My research course at Lamar University is the first time I’ve ever heard anything about Action Research. I’ve learned that action research is a systematic way of implementing change and school improvement by studying current administrative practices and data, asking questions, and collecting new information that will lead to better administrative practices and school improvement.

One of the benefits of conducting action research is improvement in the quality of teaching that goes on in the classroom. Finding and implementing better teaching instructional strategies improves the quality of instruction.

Another benefit to conducting action research is being able to help other administrators and teachers who are having similar issues on their school campuses. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. We can all learn from each other. Sharing good practices among peers is a great way for everyone to have a chance to grow.

Going through the process of action research gives an outline of how to find a solution for problems in the future. Administrators are faced with problems every day, and as the world changes day by day, we must continue to change and improve the way we teach and reach our young learners. Action research gives us a systematic guideline to find new ways to improve student achievement.

How I Plan to Use it
I plan to use action research to study teacher motivation and find ways to help improve moral on my school campus. I believe that improving teacher moral will not only boost student motivation, but also aid in raising student achievement.
